当我申请学校的时候，我申请了商学院, but what ultimately made my choice to come to 主要研究 was the fact that it had so many other options and gave me the ability to change my mind and not feel like I had to be strictly business once coming here. 在申请的时候, 我对社会创新运动知之甚少, 除了我哥哥是环境科学专业的. 作为大一学位要求的一部分，我选修了一门自然资源课程. It was during this class that I really learned about more than just the environment being at stake, 以及可持续发展的真正含义. 什么社会创新或可持续发展课程, programs or experiences have you been involved in and how did they challenge you to think differently about what a career in business or economics might be? 

Having the experience to be a part of the first full semester of the B影响诊所 gave me the opportunity to really learn with the group both leading and working on the projects, 这让我有信心和知识向前迈进 换零钱机协作该项目正式命名为社会创新与企业中心. 这让我在第二年夏天得到了第一份实习工作, 作为社会创新暑期实习项目的一部分, 与两个非营利组织合作, 波特兰的混响, 缅因州.，以及音乐团.曼彻斯特，n.n.H. These companies gave me the opportunity to work towards a greater mission and showed me the other side of the business world. Then this past semester and summer I had the opportunity to work with Piscatauqa Savings Bank, 朴茨茅斯, N.H., as part of the B影响诊所 team, and then continued on as their social innovation Intern. This was my first time really going through the B Corp assessment by myself and trying to find advantageous solutions to not only raise the company’s score when they go to recertify next spring, 同时，他们也希望在社区中成为更好的公司. This experience really opened my eyes to the troubleshooting that goes along with the sustainability and socially innovative movements.  

向前看，展望未来的职业生涯, I want to be a part of a team that has the same drive as the students who are part of the 换零钱机协作. Having been a part of the programs has given me the network of students and faculty at 主要研究 that care about doing better in the world, 我希望在我未来的组织中也能发现这一点. 

从保罗学院毕业后，你对事业有什么期望? How do you see what you have learned in regard to social innovation and sustainability playing into your career?  

在我未来的职业生涯中，我希望能受雇于一家有资质的企业, or a company that instills similar values and mission into their everyday actions as a company. I hope that more companies become focused around social innovation and sustainability and it makes finding those organizations with a drive for the triple bottom line everyone’s mission. I aspire to be a part of an organization that is doing good for the world and has the motivation to promote the movement and expand, so that more companies see the good in what it means to be socially innovative and sustainable. 我希望全世界都能更多地了解这类公司所代表的意义, 所有公司都把做得更好作为自己的使命, 因为人民需要它.  

Do business leaders have the power to change their communities and the world through socially responsible and sustainable actions, 他们如何做到这一点，同时仍然经营有竞争力和盈利的业务? 

I think leaders of business have the power to require more of their communities and the other companies they do business with. 向专注于改变世界的公司投资是很重要的. 在选择道德供应链时，或者在哪里进行银行业务时, it is giving money to those companies who are sparking change and in turn will demand that more companies adapt to the change and be better. When large companies decide they care about where they are spending their money and investing, it gets more individuals involved and educated on innovative companies trying to better the world. 

不管你的职业带来了什么, do you think it is important for all business students to have some exposure to programming and education in social innovation and sustainability 

I think it is very important that all students have exposure to education and programming in social innovation and sustainability. 这可能不会改变他们对消费方式或行为方式的看法, but it could change a few or at least make people more aware and that is what matters. The more students exposed to this knowledge of socially innovative and sustainable companies can only help to further the goals and promotion of the movement.
